WebVisions // NYC

Explore the Future of the Web

Jan. 18-20, 2012

WebVisions explores the future of the Web and mobile design, technology, user experience and business strategy. After 11 years in Portland, the show is bringing its Indie/DIY/Maker vibe to New York with presentations, studio tours and networking events. Unlike other conferences, WebVisions’ all-star lineup of visionary speakers stake out the future of web and mobile, while offering practical tips that can be incorporated into today’s projects.

Speakers for WebVisions New York include:

* Luke Williams is a leading consultant, educator, and speaker specializing in design thinking and innovation strategy and the author of Disrupt: Think the Unthinkable to Spark Transformation in Your Business. He is also Adjunct Professor of Innovation at NYU Stern School of Business and a Fellow at frog design, one of the world’s most influential innovation companies. Luke will talk about innovation in his keynote Disrupt! Sparking Business Transformation with Disruptive Thinking.

* Louis Rosenfeld is an independent information architecture consultant, and founder and publisher of Rosenfeld Media. He has been instrumental in helping establish the fields of information architecture and user experience, and in articulating the role and value of librarianship within those fields. Lou’s keynote session Beyond User Research will explore the framework for developing products and services that are better analyzed, better designed, and, ultimately, better performing.

* Nathan Shedroff, a renowned user experience pioneer and author of Make it So and Design is the Problem. His keynote address entitled “Make it So” explores the influence of SciFi on interface design and user experience.

* Mark Shapiro of LAIKA Studios will take you behind-the-scenes of the Oscar-nominated film Coraline, the first stop-motion animated feature to be conceived and photographed in stereoscopic 3D and show a rare trailer from ParaNorman, LAIKA’s new film to be released in August 2012.
