Tonight promises a healthy share of surprises. It’s never difficult to find a reason to party (or have a design party for that matter) in New York, but not as often do so many reasons come together in one event.

Tonight the Art Director’s Club hosts Disclosure during which a mysterious 27th letter of the alphabet will be revealed. The letter is the culmination of The Undiscovered Letter, a competition open to past ADC Young Guns and formed with Moleskine to generate awareness around lettera27, a foundation for literacy. The winner and 27 finalists will be on display.

Attendees who’ve RSVP’d in advance have had the opportunity to participate in the exhibition as well: by faxing in secrets to be put on display in the ADC gallery during tonight’s event. Here’s just a small taste of what’s to be seen tonight:

Many more secrets will be revealed at this evening’s event.

The festivities won’t stop there. Tonight also marks the kick-off of the now widely respected Young Guns competition. The jury for ADC Young Guns 6 will be comprised entirely of past Young Guns honorees.

The Young Guns program, first launched in 1996, continues a tradition of commitment to emerging professionals the organization has prided itself on since its founding exhibition in 1921. Ami Brophy, executive director of ADC, explained the significance of Young Guns to ADC: “Young guns represent outstanding, paradigm-changing talent (under the age of 30)—and, as the previous five Young Guns classes demonstrate, the creative leaders of tomorrow.” Those previous classes included the likes of James Victore, Scott Stowell, Stefan Sagmeister, among many, many others.

Asked about the community that seems to have formed around Young Guns recipients, Brophy responds, “the experience is unique; it’s a combination of creative talent, drive, and budding careers. The experience creates bonds that transcend disciplines and borders.”

Though not revealing her secrets just yet, Brophy alludes to new programming and opportunities for all Young Guns in the near future.

Tickets for Disclosure are $20 for the general public, $14 for ADC members. The party will serve an open bar and take place from 7:30PM–11PM at the ADC Gallery, located at 106 W. 29th Street.
