DATA VISUALIZATION WITH HYPERAKT / TICTRAC / FAST CO.

Does the amount of take out food,  the weather and the number of emails you write have an effect on your stress level? Do you spend less money when you’re out with friends? We all know that one habit correlates to another, whether good or bad, but do we really know for a fact what they mean?

Everything we do is measured in one way or another. Why not let a tool track those habits and present it to you an easy to understand info graphic? Don’t  you want to see how many times you go out when you wear your lucky pair of socks?

Tictrac, named Wired “Start-up of the Week,” is a personal analytics platform that does exactly that. It calculates those connections between your different data to give you easy insight, through the help of data visualization, on how your habits correlate.

Hyperakt, on the other side is an independent NYC design firm that made a name for itself by creating work that effects change. Famous for their beautiful info graphics, their goal is to keep the balance between the storytelling and actual presentation. There is a wide range of info graphics nowadays, different needs and different audiences. Similar to illustration there also a million different styles to visualize information.

Cliff Kuang, who features daily infographics on fastcodesign is an expert in leading a conversation about this, sometimes controversial topic.
