1/ By the City / For the City: Urban Design Week Event
By the City / For the City is a project which invited architects, planners, artists, designers, and students around the world to participate in a collaborative re-imagining of New York City’s public realm. This event is part of Urban Design Week 2011 (September 15-20), a new public festival created to engage New Yorkers in the fascinating and complex issues of the public realm, and to celebrate the streetscapes, sidewalks, and public spaces at the heart of city life.

2/ Bruno Monguzzi: A Designer’s Introspection
Bruno Monguzzi is an extraordinary designer, typographer and teacher. After studying in Geneva and London he began his career at Studio Boggeri in Milan in 1961. In 1983, in association with Visuel Design Jean Widmer, he won the international competition for the signage system and corporate identity for the new Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

3/ Design and Urban Practice Colloquium: Designing the Lower Italian Market Revitalization Project, Philadelphia
Scott Page, principal of Interface Studio, and Karin Moss, member of the board of directors of the Passyunk Square Civic Association will discuss the project, which won a National Planning Excellence Award for a Grassroots Initiative. The Design and Urban Practice Colloquium is a public lecture series on alternative and innovative forms of design and urban practice.

4/ Audiowear
Created by Christie Wright and Arjen Noordeman “Audiowear”, is a collection of musical jewelry inspired by idiophone and aerophone instruments and the acoustic quality of clay.
