1/ The Creative Process Illustrated: Opening Reception & Book Launch

ADC GrandMaster Deborah Morrison and Glenn Griffin, PhD, dive into the artistry of advertising in their new book The Creative Process Illustrated.

2/ Interboro, Advocacy and Pluralism in Architecture

Interboro will discuss its innovative, advocacy-based approach to architecture and urban planning by presenting projects old and new, including “LentSpace,” a 30,000 square foot sculpture space in lower Manhattan, “Community: The American Way of Living,” a submission to the American wing of the 2009 International Biennale Rotterdam, and “NORCS in NYC” a guidebook to New York City’s “Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities.” Interboro is a New York City-based research and design group founded in 2002, formed by four graduates of Harvard Design School. 3/ A Life in Type: Graphic Design of Alan Peckolick

Alan Peckolick is an internationally recognized graphic designer and artist, who started his career as a partner of Herb Lubalin; he went on to win awards as the creative director of a multi-national London design firm, and in his own firm.

4/ All Hands on Design! Designers From Argentina

This program offers interactive demonstrations featuring the work of both traditional and experimental textile designers from Argentina’s national design program, Identidades Productivas, which trains Argentine designers in rural communities to use local materials from the traditional to the recycled, from alpaca to nylon, to make textile, jewelry and housewares.

5/ Members Series: Armin Vit

Armin Vit has made us a big promise. He’s promised an unfiltered and uncensored look at ten years of working for design firms, living across the U.S., growing from a single blog to a relative publishing empire, and running an almost client-less, self-sufficient business from the (dis)comfort of home. The survey will include not just the greatest hits and congratulatory stories, but also lamest flops and cautionary tales.

6/ Bartle Bogle Hegarty Gold on Gold

John Hegarty, One Show Creative Hall of Famer, and winner of One Show 2010 Best of Show will speak about creating the award winning work of “The Man Who Walked Around The World” for Johnnie Walker.

The designer’s guide to professional typography”, Strizver was formerly the director of typeface development for International Typeface Corporation (ITC) where she developed more than 300 notable text and display typefaces. 8/ Lemony Snicket & Maira Kalman

Lemony Snicket, the alarmingly elusive author whose many tomes include the 13 bothersome books in A Series of Unfortunate Events, appears with Maira Kalman, the illustrator of Mr. Snicket’s latest book, 13 Words. Interviewed by Patricia Cohen, New York Times culture reporter. Including book sale and signing.
