1/ Underware (Bas Jacobs) Type Masters Week Evening Lecture

Type Masters Week features Underware for an evening lecture. Underware is a pan-European design collective that has been creating versatile fonts for more than ten years, blazing its own trail in the design world.

4/ Mind-Body Healing Through the Arts

Creative arts therapy is rapidly gaining recognition as an essential part of health care in our society. By tapping into deeply expressive aspects of body, mind, and spirit through such modalities as music, sound, imagery, role, and movement, creative art therapists facilitate self-actualization and healing within the therapeutic relationship. Prominent practitioners discuss principles and practice in this series of lecture/demonstrations. 

When: Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 8:00 pm (1 of 4 sessions, additional sessions on June 13, 20, 27)

5/ When Margaret Met Moholy-Nagy: Margaret De Patta, The Chicago Bauhaus, and Modernist Jewelry

Panelists will discuss how Moholy-Nagy and the Bauhaus movement influenced the California artist Margaret De Patta, focusing on the Constructivist concepts of space, light and structure, which formed the major inspiration for De Patta’s jewelry.

When: Thursday, June 7, 2012, 7:00 pm

6/ AIGA/NY 30th Anniversary Pop-Up Shop Reception

7/ Talking Dirty

Two panel talks exploring the artistic potential of dust, ashes, and dirt. Panelists will include a multidisciplinary group of specialists as varied as designers of cleaning products, dirt scientists, and artists who utilize the “patina” of urban cities as their medium.
