1/ Talking Books: Aerotropolis

Cities were once built around harbors or railroad terminals, but the cities built to take advantage of a hyper-competitive global economy are taking shape around something else instead: the airport. This is the premise of the new book Aerotropolis, whose co-author, Greg Lindsay, will discuss the rise and future of this new type of city.

2/ Visiting Artists Lecture Series: Ann Hamilton

The Visiting Artists Lecture Series is sponsored by the School of Art, Media, and Technology (AMT) at Parsons The New School for Design. Ann Hamilton is a visual artist internationally recognized for the immersive sensory experiences of her large-scale multimedia installations.

3/ Teaching Design with Carin Goldberg

Carin Goldberg will explore questions in education for both new and experienced teachers.

4/ American Design Club

AmDC will invite a group of their members to work in the museum’s open-to-the-public studios, highlighting their creative process by creating new work. A discussion that will analyze the work created and displayed.

5/ Volunteer for Earth Day

Volunteer your time and energy under the direction of the Lower East Side Ecology Center to cultivate the planting beds of the East River Park.
