1/ Introduction to Sign Painting
John Downer’s introductory course, will teach the two main kinds of letterform construction which have traditionally been done with a brush: single-stroke and built-up. Students will learn the importance of paint consistency and brush control.

5/ TsAO & McKOWN
Join TsAO & McKOWN at its office for drinks, informal conversation, and a behind the scenes look at recent and upcoming projects. This program is part of Arch League First Friday, a monthly opportunity for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes.

6/ Non-Latin Intensive: Greek with Gerry Leonidas
Since the first TDC Greek Week-End in 2007, the demand for new typefaces to cover the Greek script has grown dramatically. The TDC Greek Weekend will start with a hand-on session, from Garamond’s grec-du-roi in a 1575 Estienne, to the Alexander Wilson’s Greek for the Foulis Press, to a reference 1832 Didot, culminating in a range of printed material. The two weekend days will alternate presentations on Greek typography and typeface design targeted to accomplished designers who want to extend their existing Latin typefaces.
