1/ Edo Pop Stencil Workshop
Gain an artist’s perspective on Edo Pop: The Graphic Impact of Japanese Prints with a highlights tour of the exhibition. Take inspiration from street artist AIKO’s stencil mural and woodblock print imagery to make your own stencil prints using watercolors and fine papers with master printmaker Roni Henning. No experience necessary.
When: Sunday, May 19, 2013, 2pm
Where: Japan Society, 333 East 47th Street, NYC

2/ NYC Internet Week
IWNY explores how technology has disrupted and revolutionized every section of business from food to fashion to healthcare to education. IWNY is a week-long festival celebrating Internet business and culture and will attract more than 45,000 Internet professionals, working across all sectors, attending 250+ events produced by IWNY and 150+ citywide event partners.
When: May 20–May 27, 2013

Price: $135-400 general public, $20 students

3/ Introduction to the NYC Design Community
If you’re a current design student, recent graduate, new to the city, or looking to make a transition in your career, this free event will help you get acquainted with the dynamic world of design in New York City.
When: Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 7pm–9pm
Where: General Assembly, 902 Broadway, NYC
Price: Free and open to the public

4/ Commerce + Curation: Future
Where do we buy design now? As design blogs and online design stores replace in-person viewing, how can they also replace the educational function? The panel will talk about the relationship of editorial content and history to buying, selling, and showcasing design now.

5/ Mythological Drawing
An evening of drawing inspired by the idea of Myth and presented through the magical creations of the Costume Designer, Andy Toad Jordan.

6/ My Dog and Pony: Fresh Blood!
Annual student event, capturing the most talented, most original, most awesome graduate design students before they’re unleashed on the wider world.
