2/ Lisa L. Cyr: Using Exploratory Processes to Create Imaginative Works
This highly visual lecture will explore the development of imaginative, fantasy-inspired works of artist and author Lisa L. Cyr using a content-driven, mixed-media, multidisciplinary mindset. Throughout the lecture, exciting two-dimensional and three-dimensional mixed-media techniques will be shown, providing an extensive array of visually-stimulating possibilities for artists to explore!

7/ Ellen Lupton, Design Fictions
Ellen Lupton will talk about new and recent projects, and explain how the art of narrative has come to dominate her understanding of design practice. She will draw examples from her work as Senior Curator of Contemporary Design at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York City, as well as from her projects as an author and educator at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).

A special evening with Italian penman extraordinaire Barbara Calzolari. Barbara’s slide lecture will feature hundreds of her swoon-worthy envelopes and the stories behind them. She’ll talk about making one-of-a-kind envelopes and why we need to listen to our passion to make it come through our work
