This seminar is designed to introduce responsive web design techniques to designers and coders. See examples of actual code and theoretical considerations. It will be useful and accessible for anyone involved in web design.

3/ From Art School to Game Careers
Join panelists Brad MacDonald (Art Director at Large Animal Games), Lauren Saint-Onge (Concept Artist at Harmonix) and Marc Scheff for a presentation and Q&A about finding a successful career in the gaming industry.

4/ Breakfast Club: Editorial Know How
Join Cybele Grandjean, a veteran editorial art director and partner at Ligature, as she shares with you her knowledge of what goes into the making of a magazine—from scratch. Topics include the art of hiring a team who can realize your vision while giving them the freedom to create, how to get into editorial desig, design for digital platforms and the process of magazine creation.

5/ APPSolute Fun
Laura Tallardy is an app developer and children’s illustrator. Her first three apps were released in 2012 and downloaded over 35k+ times, won several awards and each broke into Apple’s top 100 games lists. She will talk about her transition from children’s book illustrator to independent app developer, walk the audience step-by-step through the app-making process from idea to app store, and explain the app economy and how to turn a profit in this new and competitive market.

6/ The Lustigs: Elaine Lustig Cohen and Steven Heller
Alvin Lustig was a designer-of-all trades. Best known for provocative book covers and jackets, hewas renown for a variety of design breakthroughs in graphic, furniture, interior, product and architectural design. Elaine Lustig Cohen married and worked with him, though not as a designer. When he died, she inherited the studio, many of his clients and the deadlines. She taught herself typography and made an early career as one of the few women freelance designers until leaving the field to pursue her art. This conversation is about life with Alvin and her own career between Elaine and Steven Heller with whom she co-authored the book, Born Modern: The Life and Design of Alvin Lustig.
