Athletics will share the story of Image of the Studio, an exhibition co-curated with the Herb Lubalin Study Center at the Cooper Union. By committing to efforts like Image of the Studio they learn to balance self-initiated projects alongside client work, and push their studio’s capabilities and culture.

5/ Off the Wall: “Fantastic Journey”
Off the Wall explores Afrofuturism through an original multimedia performance by Daví, an interactive art event with artist Saya Woolfalk, an Octavia Butler–inspired reading with Kiini Ibura Salaam, and a curator talk with Saisha Grayson on the exhibition Wangechi Mutu: A Fantastic Journey.

6/ NYC Startup Weekend
Startup Weekend empowers entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and leads to a 54-hour hackathon of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
