Visit several neighborhoods in the East Bronx located between Bronx Park and Boston Road: Allerton, Olinville and Williamsbridge. See lettering on small businesses; inscriptions on churches, schools and government buildings; and the occasional house number, vernacular sign or graffiti.

2/ New York Perspectives on Resilience
One year ago, Superstorm Sandy devastated New York neighborhoods and changed life in the city in profound ways. How can New Yorkers begin to align their politics, finances, and designs to reduce the risk from future storms? The program is presented in conjunction with Rising Waters: Photographs of Hurricane Sandy on display until February 10, 2014.

4/ Reception and Book Signing of Lettering Large: Art and Design of Monumental Typography
Join Steven Heller and Mirko Ilić to celebrate the publication of their new book, Lettering Large, which examines this international phenomenon through a diverse selection of examples and images collected from around the world. Today typography has jumped off the printed page to stand on its own as branding, sculpture, and even architecture.

A multimedia performance/reading by writer/artist Warren Lehrer: A Life In Books: The Rise and Fall of Bleu Mobley reflects upon a half century of American/global events, and grapples with the future of the book as a medium, and the lines that separate and blur truth, myth, and fiction.
