1/ Inspire/Make Workshop: Make
Inspire/Make Teen Program is a series of free weekend classes for high-school (grades 9-12) students who want to learn how to design and develop digital and electronic media. 2/ Hacking Life: Using Creativity to Break into the System
The Hacking Life series will focus each month on a different creative profession, bringing emerging and more established visionaries together in conjunction with MAD’s After The Museum Exhibition. In March, Chilean born artist, designer, director, raconteur, Sebastian Errazuriz, will talk about the ways he hacks the world around him to advance his own work, applying his creative process to the factors that contribute to his success as much as the final works themselves.
When: Thursday, March 7, 2013, 6:30pm–8pm

3/ Fame, Fortune, Fun & Freedom: Why We Design
Ken Carbone and Leslie Smolan share the joint pursuit of Fame, Fortune, Fun, and Freedom as told in their newly released book, “Dialog”: What Makes A Great Design Partnership.. In this talk, moderated by Matteo Bologna of Mucca Design, they will reveal a behind-the-scenes look at their process, their favorite projects, and the defining moments in the development of the firm.

4/ Emerging Voices: graciastudio; SO–IL
Emerging Voices spotlights individuals and firms based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico with distinct design voices and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape design, and urbanism. graciastudio designs buildings reflective of regional labor, materials, and markets, particularly as they influence construction. SO – IL, the office of Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu, uses abstraction to digest the contextual and programmatic needs of a project, producing a refined response to site and function developed from iterative studies of form and information that “clarify the essence of an idea.”

5/ Will Eisner Special Sketch Night
Special sketch night to celebrate the legacy of the father of the graphic novel.

6/ The Art of Harvey Kurtzman
