1/ Japan’s New Year’s Day Celebration: Oshogatsu
Celebrate Japan’s New Year’s holiday with lion dancing (shishi-mai) accompanied by live taiko drumming, followed by a mini taiko work­shop.

2/ San Diego Surf
Film screening of San Diego Surf, 1968. Directed by Andy Warhol. 90 min. In Film exhibition MoMA Presents: Andy Warhol’s San Diego Surf.

3/ Vista Sans Wood Type Project Exhibit
Artists Tricia Treacy and Ashley John Pigford are the initiators of this project that includes the creation of contemporary letterpress wood type and collaboration with 21 international designers/artists/printmakers/studios. A set of five letters, spelling “touch,” was sent to the participants, along with a set of paper. Each participant was challenged to interpret these materials as an edition of prints, reflecting the postdigital and multi-disciplinary nature of contemporary artistic practice.

4/ Leslie E. Robertson Associates
Join Leslie E. Robertson Associates at its office for drinks, informal conversation, and a behind the scenes look at recent and upcoming projects. This program is part of First Friday, a monthly opportunity for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes.
