3/ Grimshaw
Join Grimshaw at its New York office for drinks, informal conversation, and a behind the scenes look at recent and upcoming projects. Grimshaw was founded by Sir Nicholas Grimshaw in 1980. The practice describes its work as the “search for optimal solutions to create a built environment that uses the planet’s resources carefully.” Its current New York projects include Via Verde Greenway affordable housing (with Dattner Architects) in the Bronx, the Fulton Street Transit Center in Manhattan, the Queens Museum of Art expansion, and masterplanning at New York University.

5/ Gail Anderson Type Play Workshop
Jealous of those wonderful “type videos” you see in the TDC annual year after year? Spend a long weekend with SVA instructor Gail Anderson and her always-cheerful co-teacher, Josh Hester, and create your own short motion piece in After Effects. A basic understanding of the software is helpful, but you can amaze your colleagues and children just by making a letter move across the screen, so don’t worry!
