1/ Irish Architecture Now

Architects from three leading contemporary Irish practices will present their work and discuss issues concerning Irish architecture as part of Irish Architecture Now – Ireland’s first ever architectural showcase in the U.S., which is part of Imagine Ireland, Culture Ireland’s year of Irish arts in America in 2011.

When: Monday, September 26, 2011, 6:30 pm

Price: Free to League members, $15 general public

2/ Find My Way Home

In partnership with New York Live Arts, MAD presents John Kelly’s Find My Way Home as a series of open and closed rehearsals, culminating in a work-in-progress concert version on September 30.

When: Thursday, September 29, 2011, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Where: Museum of Art and Design, 2 Columbus Circle, NYC

Price: Free with pay-what-you-wish admission

3/ U-N-F-O-L-D Exhibition

U-n-f-o-l-d is a traveling exhibition created by Cape Farewell, a UK-based organization that offers cultural responses to climate change. The exhibition includes the work of 25 artists who participated in Cape Farewell’s expeditions in 2007 and 2008 to the Arctic and in 2009 to the Andes. Each artist witnessed firsthand the dramatic effects of climate change on the environment. In individual and collective works, the artists explore the physical, emotional, and political dimensions of climate change.

When: Thursday, September 29, 2011; Ongoing through December 15

4/ Annual Student Program

The Student Program offers an inside look at the architectural profession. The program highlights the varied and creative career paths open to graduates of architecture school.

When: Saturday, October 1, 2011, 11:00 am – 5:30 pm

Where: Trespa Design Centre, 62 Greene Street, Ground Floor, NYC

Price: $35 registration fee (includes one-year student membership to the League)
