1/ Design Army Strip

Design Army co-founder Pum Lefebure will tell the bare-bones, straight-up story of what really goes on at a design firm.

2/ Tucker Viemeister, Play=Design=Learning

Tucker Viemeister, Lab Chief at Rockwell Group, will discuss the need to play with all kinds of complex and contradictory factors.

3/ AIGA/NY Newcomers: Sip ‘N Slip

Lace up your skates, meet some new designers, and have a drink under the heated lamps of Citi Pond at Bryant Park.

4/ Artists on Art, Michael Buhler-Rose

Michael Buhler-Rose obtained his BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and MFA from University of Florida. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design.

When: Friday, February 18, 2011, 6:15 pm

5/ Jugaad Urbanism: Designs for City Life

Explore the new exhibition on design innovation in Indian cities: Jugaad Urbanism. The objects and designs on display are local, resourceful solutions (“jugaad” designs in the Hindi language) to some of the problems facing India’s urban areas. Inspired by ideas from this exhibition, families will create their own “jugaad” solutions for improving city life.

When: Saturday, February 19, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
