April 29 – May 5, 2012
1/ TDC Walking Tour with Paul Shaw: Queens, New York
2012 TDC Type Walk will return to Queens, Woodside and Jackson Heights. These are two ethnically strong neighborhoods—Irish, Filipino, Korean, Ecuadorean, Colombian, Chinese and more—which means that we will see a wide variety of commercial lettering, Irish pub lettering, public and parochial schools, Catholic churches, botanicas, Italian bakeries, pre-war apartment buildings, possibly a cemetery, and certainly non-Latin scripts. It will be a unique experience.
When: Sunday, April 29, 2012, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Price: $35 TDC members, $45 general public
